The Isle of Eigg

Sitting in the gulf stream, Eigg has a surprisingly temperate climate. To preserve the bio diversity of the island, vehicles are strictly regulated with visitors leaving their cars on the mainland. Most visitors make their way on foot as it only takes 90 minutes to walk the length of the island while enjoying the spectacular scenery. There is also a mini bus service and bikes can be hired at the pier.

Amentiites include a post office within a well stocked grocer shop in addition to a tea room at the pier. If you don't wish to cook, lunches and evening meals, using locally sourced produce, can be booked at the local restaurant; Lagorna

The cottage is located within a short walk of the spectacular beaches of the Singing Sands and Laig Bay. The nearby cliff walks provide impressive views of the surrounding islands and the mainland.

Wildlife

Get close to the island's wide variety of flora and fauna, including 130 birds species, by going on one of the many walks organised by the resident Scottish Wildlife Trust warden.
The waters surrounding the island are teeming with sea life including porpoises, minky whales, basking sharks and grey seals.
